In previous years, New England’s casinos were home to some of the best entertainment in the country. In March, Concerts were banned in the US due to the pandemic. Foxwoods Thinks Outside the Box With A Drive-In
Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, CT has always been proud of the entertainment it provided for its guests. They have entertainment booked all the way to November of 2021. But only one problem, so far everything has been cancelled or postponed in August and September.
At this time, the first performance still scheduled is THE VOICES OF SOUL AND R&B. It will be in the Grand theater on October 9th at 8:00PM.
Clubs like Centrale and Atrium Lounge seem to be open, but limited to DJ’s and recorded music.
Back in July, Foxwoods brought back the excitement of the drive-in movie to southeastern Connecticut. Every Thursday through Sunday in July, all at 8:45PM. Mohegan Sun Only Comedy and Roadhouse
The arena is closed. At this time of year, 5000 – 7000 WNBA fans, the best fans in the “W,” would be screaming for their Connecticut Sun. Unfortunately, the entire WNBA has moved to the “Wubble” in Bradenton, Florida. The Sun will not rise in the Mohegan Sun Arena this year, and the typical top shelf concert tours will not make any stops. One of the best arenas in the country is quiet – eerie quiet. Massachusetts Casinos Wait in Phase 2 – When Will Casino Entertainment Reopen
Governor Baker considers Massachusetts still in phase 2. Massachusetts continues to be the most cautious in New England. Personally, I don’t blame them. So, Mass Mutual Center in Springfield, the Loft and the Revolution Lounge at Plainridge Park Casino will not have entertainment until the last phase in Massachusetts. Encore Boston Harbor has no entertainment venues at this time.
At this time, the first performance still scheduled is at MGM Springfield in the Aria Ballroom. Marlon Wayans set for October 23rd.
Rhode Island Casinos
At this point, Twin River is not in a hurry to schedule entertainment. After rescheduling, postponing and cancelling numerous acts, the next won’t be until March of 2021. At this time, the first performance still scheduled is Judy Collins and Arlo Guthrie on March 12th, 8:00PM at the TR Event Center.

As the Connecticut casinos try to push the envelope, Massachusetts casinos are hampered by phase 2 legislation. Rhode Island seems to have thrown in the towel for headliner entertainment in 2020.
