Here is the famous Christmas poem ” ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” redone with the previous two years in mind. (With apologies to Clement Clarke Moore, author, and of course, Santa Clause)
‘Twas the night before Christmas-2021
‘Twas the night before Christmas when all thro’ the land
Casinos were welcoming guests back again;
But previous years were a terrible curse
Twenty-nineteen bad – twenty-twenty even worse.
Back then, gamblers nestled all snug in their beds,
With bad dreams of gambling halls closed up instead
And Mama was on YouTube watching the slots,
and I practiced VP – often and a lot.
But then on TV there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my desktop to see what was the matter.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
The newsman’s report was music to my ears.
He said they were open, at first just a few
But the other casinos,m well they knew just what to do.
Some Casinos were opening, New England’s did in June
One by one under the summer moon.
Now! Foxwoods, now! Sun, now! Granite State, too
Rhode Island soon after – and not one, it was two!
Our Gambling Halls were desperate, their losses were high
Now! Massachusetts, now! Maine – you opened in July!
“On! Vegas! Biloxi, AC made the call
“Now cash away! Cash away! Cash away all!”
So up to those buildings, the patrons they flew,
With bankrolls much larger, and the casinos, they knew.
I ran to my car and fled with a bound
With my bankroll, hand sanitizer, and a mask I had found.
I wore my lucky clothes, from my head to my foot
There was no way in hell I was going to stay put
In my excitement, I arrived and I said
“I have PPE, I Have nothing to dread!”
I spoke not a word, but went straight to my work,
It was triple points day, time to load up on perks.
It was eerie at first, with anxiety close behind
“This Covid thing is real,” I said. “Back home I’ll rest my mind”
It will get better I thought, I’m sure that it will
So, I’ll put it off now and make it a holiday thrill.
I’ve visited since then, but cautiously I say
this Holiday season can’t keep me away.
stay safe and win big for your gambling delight
Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
