Foxwoods Two Trees Inn 2-Night Review

Foxwoods Resort Casino has so many hotel options, it’s hard to cover them all. This week NETimeGambling was able to stay at Two Trees Inn two separate nights here us our report.

Two Trees Inn is the only Foxwoods hotel on campus, but not connected to the casinos. Ample shuttles are available to get to and from the casinos.

Registration was easy. Staff was very cordial and informative. As you walk in, two areas are available to relax in, one with a fireplace.

The first night was a deluxe room (basic). It was clean, with refrigerator, coffee, and two bottles of water complimentary.   These rooms have plenty of closet space.

The second night, I was surprised with an upgrade to a suite. While small, it was still special, with two rooms, one to relax in with TV and a large bedroom, also with TV, with the sink outside the bathroom,  which I find helpful for couples. The suite had the same amenities.

While I didn’t use the pool, it does seem large enough to entice families, which unfortunately could be the only negative for a good nights sleep. Being away from the main casino, and having lower rates, Two Trees tends to attract families with children of all ages as well as other patrons of all ages.

Considering eats, the Grille at Two Trees features casual atmosphere with New England favorites as well as hearty appetizers, elegant salads, steaks and seafood. The lounge is open until midnight, except on Fruday and Saturday, when it’s open until 2:00 AM. Across the street there is a small food mart and Burger King if fast food is in your future.

I would highly recommend Two Trees. Four stars instead of five – only because Foxwoods other hotels would be considered five stars all in the middle of the casino area.

Great staff, clean, and a pleasure to stay.

Foxwoods or WinStar World – Largest Casino in America? Does Size Matter…..For Your Visit?

What is the BEST casino in America? What is the BEST casino in the World?

Largest Casino in the world - the Venetian, Macau in China

Well, “BEST” implies many subjective judgments, considering the overall offerings in the entire casino to differences in personal taste & preference.  Let’s not forget one of the most personal aspect – “where do you feel is your the luckiest casino?”

When expansion of casino gambling is complete, New England gamblers may have a plethora of large casinos to choose from – future casinos such as MGM Springfield, Wynn Everett, Mashpee’s First Light, and Brockton’s Region C casino, competing with Twin River, Foxwoods & Mohegan Sun.

While the decision of “BEST” has many gray areas in determining quality, we can measure other aspects of casinos – quantity as in casino square footage, number of hotel rooms,  number of table games, etc.

Which brings me to the two questions I’m asking today:

  1. What is the largest casino in America?
  2. Which of the largest casinos offer more overall?

What Is Your Favorite New England Casino?

Where do you find the best hotels, games, rewards club, dining?

unnamedLike any “Best Of” Lists, it’s hard to figure out if it’s for real, or just a popularity contest – usually a mix of both. In New England the results could depend on loyalty to longer standing casinos.  In the next 5 years, this poll should become much different & interesting, with lots of competition and quality offerings from at least eleven casinos.

So here are the Best of New England’s Casinos, according to Casino Player Magazine.

Mohegan Sun Resort Casino – Best Overall Gaming Resort, Best Hotel Staff, Best Spa, Best Casino, Best Promotions, Best Slot Tournaments, Best Reel Slots, Best Video Slots, Best Blackjack, Best Craps, & the Casino You Feel the Luckiest In

Foxwoods Resort and Casino

Pequot Tower & Casino, Foxwoods

Foxwoods Resort Casino – Best Hotel, Best Rooms, Best Suites, Best Pool, Best Golf Course, Best Vacation Resort, Best Players Club, Best Hosts, Best Comps, Best Table Game Tournaments, Best Poker Tournaments, Best Roulette

Twin River Casino – Best Dealers, Best Sports/Race Book, Best Video Poker

Important notes

While Twin River

Twin River Casino

Twin River Casino

has been the third place award winner every year, there seem tobe some changes going on.  TR’s table games show life and fun with the best dealers win.  Also, Plainridge Park & Newport Grand placed 2nd & 3rd respectively in the sports book entries – ahead of Mohegan Sun & Foxwoods!  Twin River also placed second in the Slot Tournament section, Roulette, and the Casino You Feel the Luckiest In.

Please send me your thoughts on this Casino Player Magazine Poll.  Anything you strongly disagree?  I’d love to hear about it!

Have a “Royal” Day.
