New England Casino Trip – Part 2
NETimeGambling continues with the plan to visit ALL 9 New England casinos – in only seven days. So far, we have visited MGM Springfield, both casinos in Maine, and had a lovely stay at Encore Boston Harbor. Four casinos down, still five to go. Your itinerary for this one-week journey in New England continues with Rhode Island casinos and the only slots parlor in Massachusetts. So we continue our journey to Visit All of New England’s Casinos in 7 Days.

Leaving Encore – Visit New England’s Casinos in 7 Days
We spend a leisurely morning at Encore Boston Harbor, breakfast at Bru or Dunkin, and more gambling. (everybody knows I love early morning in the casino). Finally, it’s time to check out and start Day 4.
Related Post – Encore Boston Harbor Opens
We will be driving to the third Massachusetts casino. It’s a little over an hour away. This day will prove to be a low mileage day. Lunch opportunities are low-end – pizza, Smashburger, and Fluties Pub.
Visit All of New England’s Casinos in 7 Days – Plainridge Park

After Encore Boston Harbor, almost any other casinos will feel underwhelming, except Connecticut’s tribal casinos. The slots-only casino, Plainridge Park Casino & Raceway, is the only casino in New England without a hotel. If you are interested, they do have affiliate hotels locally. Electronic versions of roulette, craps, blackjack, 3-card poker and baccarat are available without live table games. It’s larger than expected, the 4th largest casino floor in New England, slightly larger than MGM Springfield.
Penn National owns it, so use the same rewards card as Hollywood Bangor, Maine. Want to break it up a bit? Go to the Racebook for pari-mutuel wagering and drinks or decent video poker at the Revolution Bar.
Let’s do lunch, gamble with your myChoice Rewards card, and move to our next casino, Tiverton Casino Hotel.
Still Day 4 – Visit New England’s Casinos in 7 Days

The 4th day is rushing by. Time to visit Rhode Island. It will take 45 minutes to arrive at Tiverton Casino Hotel, where we will stay the night. It’s new, opening two years ago. The Hotel is cozy, with a pool to relax after a long day. Dining options are minimal, but anywhere you go in New England, there’s a Dunkin Donuts right around the corner!
This leaves the night left for gambling. There is a tiny racebook, but it may not be in operation due to the late hour. The mobile app can be downloaded in Rhode Island and used at Tiverton, its parent casino Twin River tomorrow, or all day we’re in the confines of the Ocean State.
Thirty-two live table games offer Live Roulette, Blackjack, Three Card Poker, Let It Ride Poker, Spanish 21, Craps, and Baccarat. In addition, Stadium Roulette and Stadium Baccarat are also offered.

After Tiverton gambling, you should partake of the famous “iPourit Wall.” You won’t find this anywhere else in New England.
Put a fork in Day 4 – it’s done. But, then, get some rest – Day 5 is an absolute whirlwind.
Day 5 – A Little Sightseeing First!

Before we go back north to Twin River Casino Hotel, we spend the morning, lunch, and a little afternoon with a break at the “Sailing Capital of the World” – Newport, Rhode Island. This place has everything. Mansion tours, shopping, relaxing strolls downtown, and some of the best seafood you’ll ever taste. Check out the 8 Best Things to Do in Newport, Rhode Island, for possible highlights.
It’s On to Twin River – or Should We Say Bally’s?

We will be staying at the new Hotel at the Twin River Casino Hotel. So, backtracking in a circle north towards Plainridge, we stop in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Twin River is only 10 minutes from Plainridge Park.
This is the flagship of the new Bally’s, formerly Twin RiverWorldwide Holdings. Bally’s has been on quite a shopping spree, gobbling up properties like a Pac-Man game. Same rewards card as Tiverton Casino. Both will soon be connected to Bally’s in Atlantic City, newly acquired from Eldorado/Caesars.
Supper at Twin River can be whatever you are in the mood for. Its high-end steakhouse is Fred & Steve’s Steakhouse. But, I suggest you try Jerry Longo’s Meatball and Martinis, a brand new fun place with great food and a bocce ball court in the middle of the restaurant. The Shipyard Pub is a great place also, featuring Shipyard Brewing.

One of the Top 20 Largest Properties in the USA
This property has a long history of gambling, even before Foxwoods started the New England casino expansion. As a result, it has everything you’d expect from a large casino. Twin River offers a sportsbook, 80 table games, a poker room, stadium gaming, and two floors of casino space.
With over 3000 slots, Twin River has surpassed Foxwoods in the number of slots and casino floor space used. With all that gaming space, five bars, three food courts, and casual and fine dining, Twin River competes with Massachusetts and Connecticut. It also includes two small entertainment venues and one large Event Center.

So, our day 5 ends with plenty of gambling options at Twin River Casino Hotel. Tomorrow it’s up, bright and early. Our final two stops will be the Connecticut Tribal casinos, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun.
