Both Massachusetts and Connecticut’s casinos have seen a big jump in revenue and visitation. Yes, Casino weekend crowds are growing. As a result, restaurants are reopening, and new ones are rolling out. Here are four examples of the New Dining Options at the Sun and Encore.
Mohegan Sun Introduces Tao
According to Christopher Arnott of the Hartford Courant, “Everything about TAO, a 10,000-square-foot pan-Asian restaurant at Mohegan Sun, is “larger than life.” There hasn’t been this much anticipation for a restaurant opening since Encore Boston Harbor opened. TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge offers a distinctive culinary experience in the most dramatic setting Mohegan Sun offers. Guests can choose from a selection of Asian-inspired specialties, focusing on Chinese, Japanese, and Thai techniques and ingredients.
If interested, TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge is open seven nights a week at 5:00 pm. Reservations are highly encouraged. TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge accepts reservations 30 days in advance. For parties of 5 or more, your reservation requires a credit card to secure—only eight or fewer guests at a table.
“Nothing we’ve ever done has been on this scale. From a restaurant perspective, people will come from all over the region to eat at TAO. This is a world-class offering.”Mohegan Sun President and General Manager Jeff Hamilton.
Artful Asian-influenced modern design, its pan-Asian menu, and a modern upbeat dinner-party atmosphere have made it well-known across the country. There are five other TAO restaurants in major cities, such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago. Now the Mohegan Sun Resort Casino in Uncasville has one.
