These days, many of us are staying home in quarantine with extra time on our hands. To take our minds off our worries, a good book or movie can take us away. And while a movie about casino gambling can’t fill the void of indefinitely closed casinos, it could be a time to enjoy old favorites or even a new classic. The following list does not present a complete list, including a scene or two in a casino. But, there is enough here to keep you busy. So, here is our Casino Gambling Movie List.
My Two Favorites – The Sting and Vegas Vacation
In my humble opinion, “The Sting” is one of the greatest movies ever made and my favorite gambling movie. The story and music of Scott Joplin are a great combination. But would you call it a gambling movie? I would. And it’s consistently included in the top gambling/casino movie lists.
Call me crazy, but the one gambling movie that I could watch over and over is “Vegas Vacation.” I can’t get enough of that weird casino with the game “Pick a Number Between….” I guess it’s not surprising it never caught on in other casinos, along with “Which Hand” and “Rock, Paper Scissors.” Interesting that “War” is a table game in most casinos.
I’ll take watching a comedy any day. Seeing old casinos – Riviera, Stardust – brings back so many memories.
