I Hate To Say I Told You So, but My Mass Predictions Stand for Themselves!

In July, I Called It!
Let’s review – Massachusetts started with the following licensees:
(The following is quoted from a post on July 15th, 2013)

Region B – Western Mass
MGM Springfield
Penn National Gaming, Inc. (Springfield)
Hard Rock MA (West Springfield)
Mohegan Sun (Palmer)

Region A – Eastern Mass
Wynn, LLC (Everett)
Sterling Suffolk Racecourse / Caesars (East Boston)
Crossroads Massachusetts, LLC / Foxwoods (Milford)

Region C – Southeastern Mass
Mashpee Indian Tribe (Taunton)

Slots Only
Raynham Park (Raynham)
Mass Gaming & Entertainment, LLC (Worcester)
PPE Casino Resorts / Maryland Alive! (Danvers)
Plainridge Racecourse (Plainville)

My Predictions:
Region A – Wynn
Region B – MGM
Region C – Mashpee Wampanoags (the new changes in tribal recognition will allow the Mashpees to finally get their Casino)
Slots-Only – Raynham, with horse racing and community backing, it’ll edge out the rest.  However, don’t sell Penn Gaming short with their late entry – Tewskbury will fortify Massachusetts’ northeastern boundry, giving New Hampshire another casino (without the revenue).

AND TODAY, ON NOVEMBER 11th, this is what it looks like:

REGION A – Wynn and Foxwoods left, and Foxwoods still needs community backing in Milford referendum.

REGION B – MGM stands alone.

REGION C – Wampanoags get break from legislature.

SLOTS-ONLY – Raynham still leads the way, will a higher voter % in its referendum win.  Cordish of MARYLAND LIVE! Casinos is close, and Penn is still trying to get a second chance in Plainville.

So there, I told you so!

I read Palms also – but only the kind in Las Vegas.

That’s all for now.
