Foxwoods expansions and renovations are well underway. A brief trip to Foxwoods Casino Resort gave me the impression that the Mashantucket Pequots are serious about the many “ch-ch-changes” planned. Here’s a quick look at the Foxwoods Water Park & Bingo News

Great Wolf Lodge Preparations – Foxwoods Water Park
As you turn onto Rte 214, the southernmost entrance of the Resort, you pass the Outpost gas station/convenience store.
Driving north on Trolley Line Blvd., you immediately notice what once was handicapped parking, the RV parking lot, and the original parking area from 1992, diminished to an empty lot for the Great Wolf Lodge construction, opening in 2024.
The Foxwoods Water Park will be between Foxwoods’ Rainmaker entrance and the Pequot Outpost gas station/convenience store. Trolley Line Boulevard (red line above) is expected to be moved. The water park resort will take 450 parking spaces in Foxwoods’ Rainmaker Garage for employees, he said.
What Was Old Is Now New Again
Foxwoods Water Park & Bingo News
After entering Foxwoods from the Rainmaker Garage, I checked out the Bingo Hall. I mean, what was once the Bingo Hall. At once, as many as 4,000 players enjoyed this bingo hall’s comfort and relaxing atmosphere. Jackpots often topped over $100,000.
Did You Know? – The San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino in California has the largest Bingo in America. It seats up to 2,500 players, with the new Foxwoods Bingo Hall only seating 2,000 players!
Alas, the once the “largest Bingo Hall in the United States” is closed.
Oh, don’t get all bummed out; it’s just been relocated!
Foxwoods’ current bingo hall is being transformed into the “Rainmaker Expo Center.” It will offer 75,000 square feet of space for corporate meetings, trade shows, and sporting events.
Interesting Note: Above is the original High Stakes Bingo in 1986 – a 35,000-square-foot (to the left) which was about the size of a small supermarket. It would be the beginning of an empire becoming Foxwoods Resort Casino. Ironically, this same building became the Festival Slots room in future expansion and has come full circle to become the newest bingo hall again.
A New Bingo Hall
“We couldn’t be more excited to open our new High Stakes Bingo Hall at Foxwoods. You’re standing in a 2,200 square foot brand new, state-of-the-art bingo hall. It’s a $7 million project. We’ve been working on it for about a year,” said Jason Guyot, President and CEO of Foxwoods Resort Casino.
Did You Know? – Another tribal New England tribe cracked the top 10 largest Bingo Halls until it closed in 2015. The Penobscot High Stakes Bingo in Maine was the 5th largest bingo hall in the US. It seated up to 1,800 bingo players.
Bingo’s running right now five days a week, two sessions a day. Each session will be either $15 or $25 entry, and you can get anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000 each session. Hours of operation for the new High Stakes Bingo Hall are Wednesday-Sunday, two sessions a day. One starts at 10 am, and the other starts at 7:30 pm. People must be 18 or older to play.
The new hall features large screens that make it easy to see the latest numbers from anywhere inside. Foxwoods also added color-changing LEDs along the ceiling and dedicated restrooms and concessions. It also offers tablets that allow players to play additional bingo cards. Many players prefer the physical ones they mark by hand or use tablets to supplement paper.
Besides our Foxwoods Water Park & Bingo News, here are a few more observations:
- Cedars Casino has Pai Gow Poker. The table opens at Noon.
- Gas prices at the Pequot Outpost are listed daily. Click Here
- A new entrance to the Pequot Casino near the High Limit has taken the jewelry shop’s place.
- The Rainmaker Casino and Race Book are now closed. However, the small non-smoking slot casino next to the Atrium Lounge opens at 9:00 am.
It’s a beautiful facility. The changes Foxwoods have in motion will fill essential needs, specifically the new Expo Center.
Bingo notes –
- No Bingo tickets are sold in advance at this time.
- All seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
- All Bingo Admission Cashiers will now be processing both paper and video sales.
