NewEngland Craft Beer and Wine Festival Review – Twin River Casino

This weekend, the annual New England Craft Beer, Wine and Food Festival was once again an amazing success at Twin River Casino, and NETimeGambling’s Miguel and Bert were there to cover it.

It was a fantastic array of Craft Beer and Wine deliciously paired with a delicious selection of food that included tomato grilled cheeses with beer and bacon marmalade, bucket brewery spent grain pretzel sticks with cheddar beer sauce, bacon crusted beer mac and cheese, slow cooked beer pulled chicken & biscuits just to name a few. Live entertainment, seminars, creative and cooking demonstrations were also offered, osted by TV Maitre d’ Joe Zito.

Highlights certainly seemed to be the coffee/espresso stouts.  NETG gave high merits to:

Kentucky Vanilla Barrel Cream Ale
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Coffee Stout (the Kentucky table consistently had the longest and most noticeable line)
Mighty Squirrel Mocha Stout
Elysian Split Shot Espresso Milk Stout (seasonal)
Woodstock Inn Brewery Pigs Ear Brown Ale (Bert liked)
Woodstock Inn Brewery Kanc County Maple Porter (seasonal)

Miguel and Bert also visited the Revival Brewing table. One of our favorite Rhode Island Craft brewpubs, Brewtopia in Cranston, provides a tasting room the under the brewpub.

As in past events, the food didn’t disappoint. Highlights were:

Shipyard Pub Parmesan and Garlic Fries
Salted Caramel Chocolate Guinness Waffle Sundae
Sautéed Wagyu Ravioli with Cipollini Jam and Cabernet Reduction (a Bert fave)

The Event Center Ambiance

The event center was very crowded and you often found yourself searching for 3 feet of free space to relax. The room was very warm, adding to the uncomfortable surroundings, with the security guards also commenting how warm the entire building was.

The bands kept things lively along with some side demonstrations such as chowder cook offs.

Bottom Line

This is a highly recemended event, unless your highly claustrophobic. Write it in for next year – March, 2019.  Don’t miss it!
