Pequot Museum – A Native Thanksgiving Buffet – November 19


Here is another event at the Pequot Museum that sounds like a fabulous experience for the whole family.  Tickets will go quickly, which is why we are posting this today.  Here’s what is offered:

MEMBER ONLY RECEPTION: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm – appetizers & cocktails

NATIVE THANKSGIVING BUFFET: 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm – breads, soups, salads, sides, entrées & desserts

ART SHOW & SILENT AUCTION: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, bidding closes at 5:00

native-dinner1A very special Native Thanksgiving Buffet Dinner on Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm. Chef Sherry will be preparing and featuring traditional Native fare with a modern twist. The buffet will feature items that are entirely made in house and include breads, soups, salads, sides, entrees and desserts (full menu is listed below).

  • Locally caught whole fish with quahog stuffing
  • Venison with beach plum reduction
  • Indian pumpkin stuffed with braised venison, wild rice and foraged wild mushrooms as well as a vegetarian version with no meat
  • And of course turkey, but ours will be maple brined served with either oyster dressing or traditional dressing

These dishes will not be outdone by Chef Sherry’s “small batch entrees.” The concept is to prepare small batches of unique Native fare, and once the entree is finished, it will be replaced with another unique entree. It gives foodies as well as the non-adventurous an opportunity to set your own course as you graze your way through a culinary and cultural FEAST. Examples of the types of entrees include:

  • Duck
  • Rabbit
  • Sautéed mussels
  • Smoked salmon hash
  • Stuffed acorn squash
  • Seafood stew

Ticket pricing is as follows. Tickets are non-refundable.

Museum Members – $45; Non-museum Members – $70; Children 12 and under* – $30 (*A child can be a museum member or a non-museum member)

A cash bar will be available at this event.
