NewEnglandFINALIf New England is considered to be at it casino saturation point, will we see another Atlantic City debacle in the northeast?

Gambling & casinos still seem on the rise in leisure time preference, but think of the choices that New England gamblers will have within 350 miles by 2019.  A casino owned by a major player in the gaming industry will be within 80 miles at the most for anyone to visit – just under 6 hours from New Haven to Bangor, if you want to hit them all (just add time for the east-west travel to each).

So, here’s the line-up once they all get built – if they all get built – from North to South, kinda.  This list includes four of the top 10 casinos in the country, four of the top ten gaming industry companies, the two most successful Native American casinos, and two local areas that are about to give them all a run for their money.

Foxwoods Resort Casino, Ledyard, Connecticut – Owned by the Mashetucket Pequots Tribe, is the 2nd largest casino in North America.

MMCT – a joint venture by both CT tribes to build a casino together on the MA/CT northern border.  This is in response to the threat of MGM Springfield, which is expected to have a large impact on jobs and gambling revenue in Connecticut.

So, there’s the wrap-up.  But, is such a small area, you’d be hard pressed to find so many industry giants battling it out.

That’s all for now.
