The Art of Shaving will be one new addition to the Shops at Mohegan Sun this summer. Founded in 1996, The Art of Shaving™ is considered the world’s leading premium shaving brand with its aromatherapy-based grooming products, high-end shaving instruments and a retail chain dedicated to men’s shaving.
The Art of Shaving has trademarked its wet shaving system “The 4 Elements of the Perfect Shave” – Prepare, Lather Up, Shave, and Moisturize – and is recognized as the best-selling men’s brand at high-end department stores. The Art of Shaving Shops are found in 150+ locations across the U.S. and will open their doors in Dubai this fall.
The 2nd addition is Tom Urban’s – referred to as “classic food with international liveliness.” It will be the latest restaurant to join the roster at Mohegan Sun, opening this summer on the second level of The Shops, across from the Arena entrance.
Other locations include Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Denver. Now celebrating its first year in Las Vegas, Tom’s Urban has managed to stand out among the Strip’s diverse offerings. The next-generation restaurant is sure to make any diner happy with a menu that stretches from street food to international fare, and a truly flexible schedule. The menu presents global cuisine inspired by co-founder Tom Ryan’s travels, with a variety of small plate options like Xiangxiang crispy duck wings, al carbon steak nachos and wok-charred spicy edamame. Other categories feature urban “street tacos” with carnitas and pork belly, sliders (with filet mignon or truffled Maine lobster); “road trip” sandwiches, burgers and larger plates, including steaks, salmon and seafood. Tom’s Urban at Mohegan, which will be open daily, will also feature specialty cocktails and more than 40 draft beers, along with weekend brunch.
“We think that there’s a great opportunity for somebody to reinvent places for next-generational customers to go and have a good time,” says Ryan, who’s also the man behind well-known brand Smashburger, found from Massachusetts to California and in five countries. “We want to be the first, next or last part of a great night out,” he says, adding that a stop at Tom’s Urban should be part of a string of events.
Last year, the tribe opened the first Connecticut location of the popular chain Smashburger in Waterford, which could explain the inevitable connection to Tom’s Urban. It’s also the first restaurant the tribe has opened outside of the resort and casino, (Arooga’s 32 is considered on the casino campus) but it won’t be the last; the tribe is looking to open 15 more restaurants, including more Smashburger locations, in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
Another restaurant that was held as a promotions redemption area has finally opened – “Sticks & Stones.” For more information on that and Arooga’s, click on the link to the previous post Two New Dining Options at Mohegan Sun.
