Last week, Twin River Casino in Lincoln, RI made the next step to be a “full-blown casino,” according to Vice President and General Manager Craig Sculos.
Twin River Casino becomes the 4th New England Casino to offer a Poker room, besides Hollywood Casino, Hotel & Raceway in Bangor, Maine, and Foxwoods Resort Casino & Mohegan Sun Resort Casino in Connecticut. Click on the above links to their respective poker rooms.
Twin River officials reported tables were full and players were waiting to fill spots for two basic games, seven-card stud and Texas hold ’em. Each table can each seat 10 players. Poker tables are open from noon to 4 a.m. on weekdays and games are held nonstop from Friday afternoon to 4 a.m. Monday.
This completes the report by Twin River Management Group to add 28 new table games, including the 16 poker tables. TRMG’s placement of the games on the non-smoking floor was intended to round out the casino’s strategy of replicating the same energy and vibe of the lower level gaming floor.
Now, the focus continues in two directions
- Add a hotel to make Twin River a Full Destination Resort#
- Move Newport Grand to Tiverton (complete with a hotel as well) for a casino on the Mass/RI border to compete with the Massachusetts casino expansion in southeast Massachusetts.
