Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods has opened its doors, and many were there to see it. Many of the stores offered opening weekend specials. Window signs such as “50% Off Everything” were common and Tanger staff circulated through the crowds distributing coupons for additional discounts. H&M gave out shopping totes. Skechers held prize drawings. At the center’s Shopper Services, AARP, AAA members and active military could pick up a free coupon book for more savings. Festivities included mini-styling sessions, a design workshop with the Scott brothers and an Instagram Tech Lounge where shoppers could recharge phones and post selfies to enter to win prizes.
Well, it’s great having a top notch staff here at NETG. One of our Connecticut correspondents attended, and DeeBin took pics!. Here’s her take:
“It was very busy. Many people stopping in just for the retail. I still heard comments confused by having to go through the casino entrances to get there, but once inside, I was away from the sounds of slot machine and there was no doubt I was in the outlet center. Not completely filled yet, some interesting additions will be coming, especially in the food line, for example, an upscale pizza place and Pinkberry. Unlike other malls or outlets that are affiliated with casinos (such as Forum Shops at Caesars in Las Vegas), affordable and expensive shops exist in the same place. much like any Tanger Outlet. And anyone who wants to shop and is concerned about the dealing with the elements, the good news is that you go from parking garage, to casino entrance, to outlets – all enclosed. So here are a few pictures from my day.”
That’s all for now. Thanks for the coverage.
